For the first time in years, I've actually written fic. I reread The Hobbit chapter "A Short Rest," and instead of writing a blog-reaction, I thought I'd flesh out an old drabble about Glorfindel learning the Company was carrying Gondolin swords.

To be honest, I don't love it. The old skills are a bit rusty and I'm not sure I nailed the characterizations as well as I'd like. But at the same time, I don't hate it so much I don't want to edit it and get it posted. Mainly it just feels really good to have actually written something after so long. Good stuff!

Well done on dusting off the writing skills! That sounds very intriguing. I haven't written in months, in any fandom, and I don't really know why, other than I just haven't felt the urge or the creative push to do any wording.
