Very sadly, we had to let Bilbo pass away last night. Thank you to everyone who supported me this last week, and who enjoyed her stories and pictures. Knowing she left her paw-print on my world in her short time in it does help; and feeling surrounded myself helps more.

It's the last kindness we can do for them, and she knew she was loved.

I was walking around today putting away things so I didn't have to look at them. It's amazing how those little ragamuffins just fill out every crevice, and how quiet things seem without her. It will get better, I know. But the absence can be profound.

I was thinking about that today. I'm truly sorry she didn't live longer, of course, but if that was always going to be her lot, it's really nice to think I gave her so much love. It doesn't make up for the short life, but not being loved wouldn't have changed that either. The thought's comforting.

Aw, my deepest condolences. That's so hard to go through. Sweet Bilbo had a good home and lots of love in her final season of life.

Oh honey, I'm so, so, VERY sorry. Anytime we lose a pet, we've lost a part of ourselves. They leave paw prints on our hearts that are permanent. I know you'll find another four-footed companion at some point, but there is/was only one Bilbo. *hugs*

I do like that thought! Bilbo takes time to warm up, but when she does, Cleo is in for a treat. As, I'm sure, is Bilbo.
