I made the call today and told the animal adoption group Peeta and I aren't a good fit. They're comig to pick her up next week, and bring by some others for me to look at. It's sad, but also feels good to have the decision made and the conversation done.

As I was typing this, she came over, hopped on my lap and just went to town biting on my hand. Naughty little lady!

They'll also bring several others over when they pick her up next week. Hope springs eternal, but it still springs. I'm actually kind of proud of that.

I will miss my little shadow, all the same!

That's the hope, and the plan. I still want a cat, and I'm sorry Peeta can't be the one. But there are lots of cats out there, and hopefully the adoption group's learned something more about this particular one that will help them find a better situation for her.

I say that so bravely. Sometimes I'm even really okay with it. :-) Other times it's still hard. It does feel good to have made the decision, at least.

Awww... I'm sorry you and she aren't a good fit, but good on you for recognizing that (I've seen what happens when people don't...). I hope you find a good match soon--let us know, please?

Aw, that's a hard choice indeed, but your life will be more peaceful with a cat that's the right fit, and Peeta will go on to find a rambunctious family into which she'll slot in like she was born for them and them alone. But I know even the most ornery cats have a way of nestling into the heart. *hugs*
